So what can we say? Trump…

…… failing something happening to him between now and January 2017, he is now a certainty to become the 45th President of The United States.

It was only a month ago that we were announcing the monumental ratification and signing of the Global Climate Change for the aviation industry with synergy between USA, China and Russia. Pretty remarkable considering the number of years this has been on the table at the specialised agency of the United Nations, ICAO and the number of issues that have had to be overcome to get a general consensus and acceptance.

In the last week or so, there has been lot’s of rhetoric from China and other countries about how they will stay within their recently signed agreement that was enshrined in the Paris agreement even if the USA begins the process of withdrawal which should take a period of 4 years. Will this guilt the USA into staying?

We were hoping so as we have seen some of Mr. Trump’s original pledges being diluted slightly.

Maybe not. Trump has signed up a climate change denier to his office and things are all up in the air. This guy is called Myron Ebell. He has been a figure of vitriol on many environmental activists hit lists and has been called a ‘climate criminal’ by Greepeace.

John Kerry will be trying to get everything ratified with regard to the Paris Climate Treaty before Trump takes office but we believe rather than the four year period of reversal out of the agreement,Trump maybe able to scrap within a year using special presidential powers.

It is still unclear what this means for the historic voluntary arrangement that has been agreed and signed at ICAO’s 39th ICAO assembly with the aim of creating a Carbon Offseting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).

GMBM News have made several attempts to contact Mr. Trump’s press office to get clarity on his environmental stance when he becomes president but have failed to get a response as yet.

Watch this space, we do not give up easily.
